As a coach, I believe that the coachee already has 'the answer' to his/her question within. Through coaching I let the coachee discover that answer for himself. There is no transfer of knowledge in the coaching process. Coaching is about the person himself and not about knowledge of, for example, 'procedures' or 'the company'.

Sometimes do I have to transfer knowledge. In coaching, a lot of use is made of models, principles, starting points and methodologies. I first have to explain it (the coachee does not have that knowledge) before the coachee can relate it to himself. The transfer of knowledge is then in the service of providing insight.
